Concrete Sand
Concrete sand is mostly a high-quality natural river sand, from the Rhine and Meuse rivers. River sand is optimally suited for use in concrete because it is well washed; adheres well to cement and leads to high concrete strength. River sand is a sedimentary rock.
Similar concrete sand comes from land-based sand mining.
Concrete sand from other sources, such as sea and quarries, may exhibit different properties.
Fine grades of concrete sand such as 0/1 mm and 0/2 mm are called masonry sand or grout sand.
range
Concrete sand is composed of coarse river sand and multiple washed through grading plants.
This makes it perfectly suitable for use in all grades of concrete.
River sand is more angular in shape than marine sand. Concrete sand from quarries contain more dust.
The most common grades of concrete sand are: 0/2 mm and 0/4 mm.
Masonry and grout sand are 0/1 mm and 0/2 mm.
