Your role as operations planner

At Bouwstoffen Unie , as an Operations Planner you will have broad responsibilities. You will be guided by an experienced Operations Manager to develop into an independent professional. You will work closely with your colleagues and in the absence of the Operations Manager you will be the point of contact.

First and foremost, you will be responsible for keeping the shipping planning process running smoothly. From finding a ship to arranging loading locations and coordinating the entire process. You ensure that the distribution of construction materials runs smoothly, both locally and regionally. You are a true entrepreneur and commercially minded, with an eye for pricing strategy and margins. A varied job in which you negotiate prices and continuously coordinate with customers, shippers and other stakeholders. You are familiar with inland shipping and have affinity with it.

As a planner within operations you are responsible for managing our operational processes. You will work in a small organization, if necessary you will also support the commercial inside sales. So everything you do has impact and a great value and contribution to the growth of the business!

Together with your sales & logistics colleagues, you are the linchpin, ensuring that the internal processes arising from sales activities run smoothly within Bouwstoffen Unie. Your goal is maximum customer satisfaction and timely delivery of ordered building materials.

OPERATIONS PLANNER DUTIES

  • You will be responsible for the smooth running of shipping schedules, for this you will plan and manage transports and adjust them as needed.
  • You coordinate by phone with involved parties and solve problems
  • You record appointments in an ERP system
  • You are the backup to the Operations Manager

  • You will support the inside sales department (making quotations, customer contact)

  • In the absence of the Operations Manager, you will be the point of contact.

What do you bring?

  • You have at least MBO 4 working and thinking level;

  • You have affinity with inland shipping and logistics and preferably experience in this field; for example, as a transport planner or logistics employee;
  • You have good negotiation skills and results orientation.
  • You are flexible and willing to take over work from colleagues as needed.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office, Navision or Business Central is a plus.Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office, Navision or Business Central is a plus.

  • You have a good command of Dutch. German is an advantage.
