Foam glass

Foam glass, or glass foam, are coarse granules created during the melting and expansion of recycled glass. To produce foam glass, clean recycled glass granules are ground into a fine powder and foamed with air. This causes it to expand into a porous cake (slag). After cooling, coarse porous granules are formed, which can be broken and sorted.

range

Grains with higher porosity can be produced according to the process. Various grades in terms of weight, cavity and grain size are available.

MARKETS

These lightweight granules are used in concrete; and in road construction as a lightweight sand substitute for embankments in weak soils. Foam glass is also used for thermal insulation and soundproofing.

specific characteristics

  • Extremely light weight
